The Seven Steps Program
Featured Project: The Seven Steps Program — songs of identity, reclamation and transformation.
Every song in this collection began the same way: not with a beat or a hook, but with a conversation. Each participant sat down for a personal, one-to-one creative session — a space to share memories, reflections and breakthroughs without needing to perform or explain themselves. The Seven Steps framework itself became the map for that conversation: what people remembered, what they had to face honestly, what needed healing, what could be reimagined, what helped them return to who they really are, what needed restoring, and what kind of reset would finally let them rise into themselves.
From there, each story was shaped — not written from a theme, but drawn out through interview, reflection and careful listening, then built into a song concept, a lyrical structure and a musical direction matching the emotional truth of what was actually said. One image ran through the process again and again: movement beyond limitation, not climbing someone else’s staircase, but finding your own way across the ocean. It became a way of thinking about identity, freedom and the courage to imagine a different future, and it shaped several of these songs.
Across the collection, the songs return again and again to a handful of themes: ancestry and belonging, radical healing, self-determination, community, and the courage it takes to move toward freedom. None of them is about becoming someone new. Each is about returning to a truth and a strength that was already there. Previews below are limited to the first 90 seconds.

Every Seven Steps song builds toward its own Great Reveal. This is the first time the finished song is played back — sometimes in a private one-to-one setting, sometimes at a course graduation, a retreat closing circle, or a live community celebration. It’s built to be more than a playback: participants hear their own words and experience reflected back as music, often for the first time; the people around them get to witness the journey rather than just hear about it; and for the facilitators who guided the programme, it becomes a way of seeing the impact of their work made suddenly, unmistakably real.
For many people, that’s the moment the transformation stops being a private memory and becomes something shared — something they can feel, sing and carry with them long after the programme ends.
